We do everything we can to ensure that our practice incorporates the most advanced technology that contribute to our eco-friendly lives. At All Smiles Dentistry, we practice water and energy conservation through the use of digital radiography, digital record-keeping to reduce paper consumption, responsible recycling, energy efficient lighting, and the use of dry vacuum pump to conserve water. We do whatever we can to to keep our office environmentally friendly.
Digital radiography uses less energy than conventional methods, and is also more effective. It allows the dentist to take a very close look at the teeth and surrounding structures with amazing accuracy. The amount of energy used to transmit digital radio waves is so much less than analog, which makes it friendlier to the environment. As a benefit to a patient, the digital x-ray also provides nearly 80-90% less radiation than a standard x-ray. Digital radiography also eliminates the use of film, development chemicals, and lead foil papers. All these materials are harmful to the environment. Digital radiography also completely eliminates the propagation of toxic chemicals and heavy metals (lead and silver) that could enter and contaminate our water.
A panorex is a very impressive piece of imaging machinery because it is capable of identifying many issues and structures that a normal x-ray cannot. Initially, you will stand with your chin on a small ledge. Once positioned in the machine, it will rotate around your entire head taking a full 360- degree view of the teeth, head, sinuses, bones, and joints. The ability to view the full structure of your head as a whole is very informative to the dentist. It will allow the dentist to view your face as a whole. The panorex is very powerful tool that is capable of viewing specific types of structural problems, tumors, impacted wisdom teeth and the condition of TMJ.
The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise such as fracture lines and broken cusps. In addition, the patient will have the ability to see for their oral condition the same time with the dental health provider. A picture is more than a thousand words. These digital images are will provide strong evidence to support your dental claims from insurance companies.
